Our Goals for “The 100 Project”:

Help us with the 100 Project now.

1.  Enlist 100 Prayer Partners by spring 2010.

Prayer involves engaging your life with the God of the Universe and adjusting or shifting your life to His will and His purposes.  It’s about being connected and is vital for every Christ follower and every church.

Because we believe that Church Planting is a spiritual venture that is not to be entered into in isolation, we are seeking partners who will pray for and with us.  Becoming a prayer partner involves praying for us as you have opportunity and receiving prayer updates from us as we have needs arise.

2.  Commit to 100 hours of prayer for Stoneview Church by spring 2010.

* Pastor Johnny has committed to personally dedicating 100 hours of prayer for the launch of Stoneview Church by March 2010. His goal is to pray for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening each day.  During this time, he will be seeking God’s heart and vision for all aspects of Stoneview as well as for the people of the Fort Worth (Alliance), Texas area.

* We are looking for 100 people who will commit to ONE hour of prayer for Stoneview Church over the course of the fall of 2009.  We are asking partners to accomplish this by praying for 5 minutes 3 times a week for 4 weeks.   Of course, if you’d like to set aside a continuous hour or divide the hour up in another way to pray for us, that would be fine, also!

3.  Gather 100 adults by spring of 2010.

Permission to be candid?  This goal is a “God sized” goal for us.  In fact, it makes us a little nervous even announcing it publicly.  But we believe it is a challenging and attainable goal.

One of the ways we hope to achieve this goal is through our “Zone” strategy.  We have divided the Alliance area into 4 basic “zones” in which we are doing community events and service projects with the goal of gathering 25 adults in each. We are working toward reaching this goal before we begin weekly public worship services.

4.  Perform 100 acts of service and ministry.

We believe churches should have a positive presence in our communities.  As a church, we are planning several “Community Events” and “Service Projects” throughout the spring.    Serving others is one of the ways Christ Followers grow stronger in our faith and grow closer to the heart of Jesus.  This is why we are looking for partners who will join us in reaching out to those around us with the love of Christ.

We hope to perform 100 acts of service and ministry throughout the fall – together as a church, and individually as Christ Followers.  10 people who perform 10 acts of kindness or service for a friend or neighbor would enable us to reach this goal quickly.

We invite you to join us in this, regardless of the community in which you live.

5.  Record 100 stories of life change.

One indicator of a healthy church is a steady stream of stories of life change being shared through the life of the church.   We believe that as a result of God working through Stoneview Church, we will see people becoming Christ Followers, addictions being broken, marriages restored, and families strengthened.

As God works in people’s lives we will keep a record of stories, and we hope to record 100 of these by spring of 2010.

6.  Rejoice over 100 baptisms by the summer of 2010.

It has been said that a “goal is a dream with a deadline.”   This is our goal, our dream and our deadline.  It is, after all, the main reason we are starting Stoneview Church.

We are keeping count in the same way a loving Shepherd keeps track of his sheep.

We are keeping count in the same way we will count & be good stewards of offerings we receive.

We are keeping count because people count.

We are keeping count because it is a vital statistic for our church.

We are keeping count because we believe it would be lazy not to keep count.

We are praying that God will allow us and empower us to see 100 people become Christ Followers and go public with their faith through Baptism by the summer of 2010.

This is another “God sized” goal for us, and we are extremely excited about seeing it come to pass.

7.  Raise $25,000 in startup funds in the spring of 2010 by enlisting 100 partners who make a ONE time gift of $250 (or 2 gifts over 2 months of $125).

We want to start well, and to do so, it will take funds to get started.  We believe that while it takes significant resources to reach people and to start a church, it doesn’t have to take a fortune to get rolling.

We are committed to maximizing each dollar we have available for ministry.  This does not mean being “cheapskates” or “penny pinchers,” but simply means doing the very best with what we have.  We will be lean and focused on the things that will have the most impact.

This is how we are able to keep this initial amount so low.  By thinking through the needs of the fall and the anticipated giving of those who join us, we believe that this amount is the minimum needed for us to start well.

Biblical stewardship and the principle of tithing (giving 10% of our income) will be emphasized from day one at Stoneview with no apologies.  Jesus emphasized that where our treasure is, there our heart will also be, and we believe Him.  Giving is always a heart issue, and God wants our whole heart.

100 “one time” gifts of $250 is our goal.   As we have mentioned, it is a lean figure, but keep in mind that this amount is a “kick start,” not an annual budget.

$25,000 in startup funds will cover basic initial costs, such as:

-  Worship Space rental for monthly worship services through the spring

-  Part time salary for staff:   Including Pastor, Worship Leader & Children’s Pastor through the spring

-  Basic equipment

-  Outreach events and basic marketing

-  Administrative costs

Please direct your “one time,” gift of $250 (via check or online bank payment) payable to:
